How do I reschedule an order to show cause?

More details to this question:
I have an order to show cause date set, but I will not be in town on that day. Is there a way for me to postpone or change the date? I am the defendant.

Yes. Try calling the other side and see if they will stipulate to it. You can also call the court clerk to see what the procedures are for that department. They will probably ask you to get an agreement from the other side.

You may reschedule a order to show cause by filing a motion with the court for a continuance.
