My arbitration was on February 27, 2014. On March 3, 2014, an amount of $8000 was agreed upon. It's now April 13, 2014 and I still haven't received my check and not only that nobody from my attorney's firm will return my calls to tell me what's going on. 4 weeks ago, my attorney said they were just checking on any Medicaid liens. Now it's almost 7 weeks later and I don't know what's going on. How long after an arbitration decision do I receive my money?
You will likely get noting until medicaid or medicare liens are cleared. They wait for medicare or Medicaid folks to write your lawyer. they are a federal govt office run by bureaucrats and are in no hurry to respond. Tell your lawyer to return your calls or withdraw from the case. you don't need to be told but once as to the status of your case. your lawyer is not paid to hold your hand and answer the same question twice a week.
