QUESTION

How long should it take to receive your settlement check?

Asked on Mar 14th, 2015 on Personal Injury - Washington
More details to this question:
It'd been almost 60 days since my son went to sign an agreement of settlement on a workman's compensation claim from a iron & welder's union. How long does it take to receive his money? My sons attorney says it is just setting on the federal judge's desk waiting to be signed off. Does that sound right? Don't they have to issue that check within so many day?

There are no set days that a settlement check must be issued. Once it's signed by the judge and mailed to your attorney, there will be an additional wait period that the bank places. Try not watching the calendar, you are just making it harder upon yourself. Trust your attorney.
