QUESTION

How to stop an extension to serve a summon?

Asked on Apr 11th, 2016 on Personal Injury - Florida
More details to this question:
A law office filed a lawsuit against me on September 23rd 2015 for a bogus injury insurance claim from a minor fender bender I had back on January 2nd 2014. Now I just received a letter telling me they applied for an extension to serve me the summon claiming I move a lot and they need more time to track me down. Which is BS since I've lived at the same address for 4 years. That's the address on my driver's license, car registration, car insurance and even the police report has the correct address. Is this my chance to end this stupid lawsuit? How do I stop the extension? Is it worth it to stop it, can they come at me some other way later?

You need to retain counsel immediately and report this lawsuit to your inusrance company so they can appoint counsel for you if at all possible. Jerking around with a summons is a weak means of defending the case.
