It sounds like a police matter. You can try to sue the person or people who beat you up but there would be no insurance coverage.

You call the police to file criminal charges. Retain an attorney to file a civil lawsuit.

Report it to the police. Maybe they'll pay attention, maybe not. I've known police to over-react in some situations and fail to act in others.

Sue for assault. Problem is there is no insurance for assault. How are you going to collect? If you file a criminal warrant the criminal court judge may make him pay medical bills as a condition of probation.

If you want to file charges, you need to report the attack to the police. If you want to get reimbursed for your medical bills, lost work, pain and suffering, etc., you need to sue the people who attacked you. These are two different things. You can do either by yourself, but you ought to consult at least one personal injury attorney before filing a lawsuit. Good luck to you.

Tell them you want their insurance information, and inform them that under Section 627.4137, Florida Statutes, they are required to give you that information, then get in touch with the adjuster and tell him or her that you want to make a claim.

Have you contacted the police? Start there for filing charges. If you know who did this to you, you can sue for battery (unlawful touching) to recover damages, including your medical expenses.

You should report the assault to the police. They will investigate and send their report to the prosecuting attorney who will determine if any criminal charges are to be brought. As for a civil action for assault, before you get involved, how collectable is the defendant? If the defendant is not collectable, you will spend more time and money than you will ever recover.

Dial 911 and tell the lady or the man someone tried to play basketball with your head. Apparently your assailant knocked common sense out of you. Late reporting a crime is bound to be a bust. Good Luck my battered friend.

For criminal charges, you may contact your local police department and/or the prosecuting attorney's office. For a civil lawsuit, you should contact a plaintiff's lawyer who handles assault and battery and other personal injury cases.
