More details to this question:
The person that showed me how to use the machines was not qualified and I found that out after the fact turned out several months later I had to have neck surgery is there anything I can do about that

Possibly - BUT you will need to have MEDICAL documentation that the poor instruction alone caused your injury and that there is a collectable entity or insurance that covers the claim. This would likely be a VERY difficult case to prosecute.
