Husband took car been gone three days

My husband took mu car its been three days now. Needs to say ill be getting a divorce. But the issue is the car is in my name only and i call the police and they state there is nothing they can do about it. My question is if I take insurance off of the car and surrender the tag online if something happens to the car will i be responsible for the car and can I then take him to civil Court to pay for the car

I recommend that you keep insurance on the vehicle for as long as you are the owner of the vehicle. Under Florida law, the owner of a vehicle is responsible for any damages caused by the driver of the vehicle. So, as long as you own the vehicle, you are legally responsible for the vehicle. You should consult a divorce attorney asap to see if the vehicle can be returned to you or, in the alternative, title transferred to your husband as part of a divorce settlement.
