I co-signed a car loan for friend.

More details to this question:
I co-signed a car loan for friend. He let his car insurance lapse and was in an accident. He's being sued by the other driver. Am I legally responsible for anything?

Possibly. Many co-signors are actually co-buyers, and all owners of the car have liability. You need to hire a lawyer to review your paperwork.
