After 5 years I was told that there was a conflict by my attorney and to protect me they were transferring my case to someone else. Well, there are "3" conflicts of interest, 2 of which I knew about although the firm never told me. Now I am being told that my case was being transferred to another firm to protect me. They're not protecting me, only themselves because 2 other lawyers from the other firm were hired by MHM and one of them brought up the conflect(?). I was also given misinformation from my attorney and his firm. I was told that I won the case; now I'm being told that I only won part of the case. Plus, I spoke to one of the owners (Mr. Victor Mazzotti) on Thursday who gave me even different information than I had received from my attorney. I believe the firm even "blocked" my e-mails to my attorney, which I found out last night. I'm so upset; I don't know what to do. Can I file a complaint with Judicial Contact about the 3 conflict of interests?
Sorry to hear you're being given the run-around. Although you certainly have the right to file a formal complaint with the Grievance Committee, it's not clear how you were harmed by your attorney's conduct or conflict of interest, especially if you were aware of at least 2 of the conflicts all along. Keep in mind that you havea right to choose whatever lawyer you want to represent you and can change attorneys at any time. If you're not satisfied with the representation you're receiving or feel the conflicts are interfering with your attorney's representation of you, you should find a new lawyer. Before doing so you might want to have an in-person meeting with your lawyers and try to get some straight answers about what's going on with your case.
