I was rear ended by someone. I don't have insurance but should that really matter if they ran into me? I was in a turning lane turning right , the other person was in the middle of the intersection coming toward me waiting to turn the same direction (their left). As I was turning I heard somebody honk , and I stopped (now in the direction I was turning) after a second or two , someone rear ended me. It turned out to be the person that was waiting in the intersection. I'm not sure how they managed to hit me , but regardless they did. I don't have insurance because I simply cannot afford it. I usually walk everywhere but today I had to drive.
Assuming the other driver was 100% at fault, then your lack of insurance won't make any difference. Except, that in Wisconsin it is against the law to drive without insurance. You would benefit from retaining a skilled defense lawyer.
Since you were rear ended, you would not normally have any negligence assessed against you, and your lack of insurance should have no bearing, unless the at-fault driver also had no insurance.
