QUESTION

Insurance company said amount is too much

Asked on Jan 20th, 2022 on Trucking Accidents - Florida
More details to this question:
I have a 2017 Jaguar XE. I was at a traffic light and A 2500 Dodge truck hit the driver side and damaged the driver's side of the vehicle and the part of the trunk hood. I had to send the car from Tallahassee Florida to Jacksonville Florida because no collision shop in Tallahassee had the equipment to work on a 2017 on up model jaguar. The repairs came out to over $25,000 for parts and labor, because of the aluminum frame of the protocols Jaguar have in place to fix their cars. My insurance company said that they are not going to pay that amount for the repairs they will only pay $14,000. And said that I will have to pay the remaining $11,000. Can I take them to court for not paying the entire amount?

You should have a private phone conversation with an attorney here in the state of Florida about all the facts of your case to determine exactly what you are entitled to both property damage wise and personal injury damage wise. Further, you have a period of only 14 days to seek medical attention after the accident or else you would waive your personal injury protection benefit coverage. Secondly, you should not make any statements to anyone without the presence of your lawyer.

Much more information is needed concerning all of the specifics surrounding your inquiry, which can only be gathered in a one on one consultation with a Personal Injury/ Trucking Accident attorney. You certainly have an alternative, which would be to pursue the driver and owner of the Dodge 2500, and most likely it would be their insurance carrier(s), that would handle this claim. Talk to a competent attorney regarding this situation before pursuing this any further yourself.
