QUESTION

Is an under oath statement typical for a vehicle accident?

Asked on Feb 18th, 2017 on Automobile Accidents - Florida
More details to this question:
My fiance was in an accident back in January, he rear ended someone. The person he rear ended did go to the hospital but we was a plane back to California two days later. He personally was not hurt. Now his insurance company wants him to go to the courthouse to give a statement of what happened in the accident under oath. Is this typical?

This is why you dont have 3rd parties ask lawyers for advice any more than you would expect to go to a doctors office to drectibe your fiance's condition and expect the doctor to diagnose it. This sounds more like you B/F is being sued since you reference the statement under oath at a courthouse. You B/F needs to retain a lawyer or contact his insurance company to see if he has coverage that will pay for a lawyer.
