QUESTION

Is it illegal to tell others via email about an abusive relationship?

Asked on Dec 16th, 2016 on Personal Injury - Indiana
More details to this question:
I am suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and depression after a 4 year relationship with a man who intentionally hurt me emotionally and used me financially. I don't think I can prove an IIED case but I would like to at least be heard and to let others know what happened to me. It will help me let it go and possibly save others from the same fate. If I am sure to only tell the truth about him, is it illegal to post my story on social media, send it in emails, and blog about it, using his name?

The truth is never illegal, but posting about it the way you want to do is unwise, and ultimately counter-productive in most cases. Please talk to your therapist about other ways to make yourself feel better without poking the bear.
