Is it insurance fraud to get a payoff from two separate insurance companies for an accident that affected your residential property?

A car took out part of our fence on our property. The guilty party’s ins company told us to go through our homeowner’s policy. We did so. Then, the guilty party’s insurance company called back and asked if we were going to send photos, police reports, etc. I told them that I had already filed through my homeowner’s policy. My wife became angry but I told her that I thought that would be insurance fraud, is it?

Could be if you get paid 2x for same damage or impair an insurers subrogation rights.
