Is my recording lawful even it recorded the tech without his knowledge?

More details to this question:
I have a dashcam in my car. I brought my car to a repair shop and my car was damaged. The shop would not admit to the damage so I checked my dashcam footage and it caught them red handed.

Most probably it is legal and evidence. This is a new area of the law, but, practically, is the shop is made aware of the evidence it will hopefully do the right thing and repair the damage. If not, see an attorney.
