Dear SirMadam 1/21/2015 The following is information is about tripping on a parking cement block and a parking lot curb edge and falling into a wrought iron fence at the Palmetto Health Richland Hospital parking lot, located in front of building 9, at the SW corner. I was at the parking lot accompanying a friend for a doctors appointment with Dr. William Giles for follow-up surgery in case a driver was needed. Upon leaving we went toward the car parked in the second row from Building 9, where I encountered the parking block between two vehicles that were parked there and tripped on the parking block; subsequently tripped again on the curb and dove head first into the wrought iron fence. I was helped up by my friend and an unknown young female sitting in her car close by , and she called the hospital on her phone for an ambulance. The young female and my friend picked me up, I then passed out twice, and to my friends vehicle where we went to emergency, rec'd sky hi bill

It seems to me the parking lot would be negligent. You could file an action for negligence against the owner. The owner probably has liability insurance as well which should have covered your medical bills if the owner was at fault. There was a case recently in Charleston where a man tripped in a parking lot downtown and was awarded $4 million.
