Minors in a car accident. Settlement?

More details to this question:
Two of my daughters were in a car accident with their grandmother and are expecting a settlement. We live in the state of Texas, will the money be put in a trust?

If they're under age 18 and their recovery is substantial, it's likely that a "friendly suit" will be necessary to settle their claims and their money will be deposited in the registry of the court until each of them reaches age 18.

If a lawsuit was filed or the insurance company wants protection from being sued when they turn 18, then the court will hold the money until they turn 18.
