My 85 yr old mother in law lives with us. Her health is failing. the Dr told her that she should quit driving. If she were to have an accident while driving, am I liable for any damage she may cause.

An owner of a vehicle may be liable for a car accident if they lend their vehicle to someone who they know, or have reason to know, is either incapable, incompetent, or unlicensed to drive. This is called "negligent entrustment." But this only applies if you own the vehicle.
