QUESTION

My airbags deployed for no reason. How should I proceed?

Asked on Feb 25th, 2017 on Automobile Accidents - Massachusetts
More details to this question:
I was driving along a state highway today and all of my side airbags deployed. I did not hit anything and the exterior of the car is not damaged at all. My daughter (7 years old) was in the car. Neither of us is injured- although I have a sore shoulder and neck from where the airbag hit. Our insurance covers towing and repairs, but we pay a $500 deductible and we don't have rental car reimbursement. Because it appears to be an airbag malfunction, I think the car manufacturer should be responsible for all fees and a rental car.

I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you.  Yes, I would call the dealership and/or the manufacturer and start there.  Best of luck to you.  Sounds like there was a clear malfunction as that is certainly not supposed to happen.   Steven A.
