My daughter, eleven now & on perm. disability.suffered from eye conditions called 'Accomodating Estropia, Strambismus & Amblyopia(eye's crossed,flipped under eyelids & looses eyesight beginning peripherally until reaching center & goes blind).Under went eye surgery @ childrens hospital to correct & stop disease;it was 100% successful.(med. records proof)Until diff. child @ school w/2yrs of documented violent behavior towards teachers & other students & undergoing intense counseling was allowed to bring to school a "stress ball" as a tool in expressing herself in counseling threw it & hit my daughter in the temple & eyesocket reversing the surgery results(documented in med.record confirmed by original eye surgeon) resulting in new post operative complications due to blow to head symptoms are halo's,double vision,headaches,back in glasses(2 sep. Rx's & on 3rd Rx since May2014),throwing up.School put IEP in place & their own eye Doctor checks her every Friday,also requested sig.to release

So sorry to hear about your daughter. I have a young daughter as well with a number of health issues, including eye problems so certainly can relate to how difficult it is. You may very well have a claim against the school, given the ongoing behavioral issues of the child that injured your daughter. I would definitely not sign any release that the school is asking you to sign.
