QUESTION

My name is on everything that my parents own

Asked on Sep 24th, 2024 on Automobile Accidents - Florida
More details to this question:
My name is on everything that my parents own, including their home, bank accounts and vehicles, I am also a listed driver on their auto insurance. If I were involved in an automobile accident in our shared vehicle and I hurt someone badly could my parents be sued? Could they lose everything? I live in Florida which I believe is in no fault state.

As long as your name "is on" the assets of others there is always a potential exposure. You and your parents should retain an "asset protection" lawyer to review your situation to provide specific answers about exposures or ways to avoid them.
