QUESTION

not an auto accident but auto repair question

Asked on Apr 10th, 2012 on Automobile Accidents - Washington
More details to this question:
For the past 14 months my car has been in the repair work getting restoration work done, well for 12 months i was deployed overseas, i let the shop know im gone for only 12 months well since ive been home i still havent got my car yet and it seem that they are charging way to much and they keep making excuses for my car not being done. I know their work is good but it seems like im an easy target because im military. We never had a formal contract since they kept me in the loop but i have spent $11.500 and it seems like thats hardly covered the work, i was extremely upset that i still need to pay at least $5000.00 and being recently discharge i have no job and all the money i have save is going towards this car. Im just trying to find help because all of my friends are telling me that they are scamming me. My vehicle should be done tomorrow and hence i say should be and ive heard that before. Im just need help to see if there are legal options

The Washington State Attorney General's office has a website that answers consumer  questions about auto repair rights. It can be found here: http://www.atg.wa.gov/uploadedFiles/Home/Safeguarding_Consumers/Consumer_Issues_A-Z/Cars/AutoRepairBrochure.pdf This response is general in nature and is not legal advice. No attorney client relationship is formed by it. Further, the response does not represent the opinions or views of LexisNexis or its affiliated companies.
