Personal injury lien question

Asked on Apr 07th, 2018 on Personal Injury - Florida
More details to this question:
My attorney did not review my medical lien list when they were settling my PI lawsuit and there were items on that list that did not belong there. They were given plenty of time to make sure there were no items on that list that did not belong on there and if it was reviewed with me, the client, I would have found them and questioned these items. I just told the Dr, the insurance company and my Atty that these items which were already paid to my insurance co that they need to be taken off. If I was given this list earlier and was a part of the lien process I would have caught these items! Now the insurance co that does the payment of liens to insurance companies told me and my Atty that it’s too late! They said they gave the Atty plenty of time to go over that lien list. I am now out over $1000 because of my Atty errors and they did not review it with me! What do I do at this point? Since it was my attys fault should they be the ones to take that loss and pay me that $1000 that I lost?

If this issue is over $1,000.00 depending on the case value this may or may not be worth creating a controversy over. I fyou feel the lawyer botched htings up you can make a complaint with the Florida Bar about the issue and see if they can help resolve it.
