QUESTION

Providing proof of commercial insurance

Asked on Jun 24th, 2014 on Trucking Accidents - Florida
More details to this question:
Dump truck blew out (inner) back tire and struck my left front bumper. Florida Highway Patrol came and filled out incident report and provided myself and trucker with copy. I could not locate phone number for trucking companies insurance on the internet and subsequently called the driver for additional information. I was told by trucking firm that they would not provide me with contact info.since they feel the incident was not their fault. I did not know that the trucking firm could be so blatant as to stonewall and not allow me any access to any insurance info. I think it is somewhat ironic that the trucking company has a contract with the state of Flor. to do repair work and yet they can't provide proof of ins. or any other information related to ins. provider for an accident that happened on a state highway that company probably has a state contract to do the work. Any advice from here? I do have Flor. H. P. incident report just not valid phone # that works. Any requirements

Something is missing from this as I assume that the cop saw the blown out tire and noted this on the report , and the trucker didnt deny the event since he pulled over when it happened, yes? You may just need to make the claim with your insurance company and let them chase the trucking company down for reimbursement or ifthe damage is worth it, file a small claims case.
