More details to this question:
My friend was not under the car rental and she got in to an accident. I did not have rental insurance and I am covered under my parents. I used my parents insurance. The car was towed and the damage was along the front right side of the car. What are the costs involved? I did not get a police report but they said my friend was at fault.

You are potentially liable if you rented a car and allowed someone else to drive it. I assume you were involved in the accident, but obviously you or your parents rented the vehicle. You need to see if your parent's insurance company may have some coverage. Otherwise, you can be liable for the damages to the rental car and any other potential liability if another car was hit.
You may want to check what credit card you used because some cards offer rental car insurance coverage. For instance American Express has it on some of their cards, as may Visa or Mastercard Platinum or other special credit cards.
