My son has been a victim of a bully at school for the last 2 years. The other day I was called to come get him and rush him to the hospital and was told he tripped and fell on the bus he had to receive 3 staples in his head they told me he tripped and fell on bus after speaking to him he told me it was the same boy that has been tormenting him for the past 2 years. I had the school pull the video and I was correct they suspended the boy for 3 days. But my son is so afraid to go back I had to enroll him another school out of town and will have to drive him everyday. Now I'm stuck with the hospital bills and a terrified kindergartener. I feel like the school is just sweeping this under the rug and I don't know what to do. It is a public glorida school.
Its not clear from the post what you expect the school to do. You transferred your son to a different school, where presumably he should be no longer "terrified." Unfortunately, in the guise of "acceptance and inclusion" most school authorities have essentialy been neutered so that its virtually impossible to demand "they do something" in your situation only to be confronted with threats or claims by the other childs parents. At this point the problem is solved, though you will suffer inconvenience, for the safety of your child. If you insist upon escalating the issue further you can but you will need to plan on spending a good deal of money on legal counsel to do so.
