QUESTION

Settlement for auto-accident

Asked on Sep 25th, 2016 on Automobile Accidents - Florida
More details to this question:
Two years ago my SUV was rear-ended by a commercial vehicle causing approx. $7,500 worth of damage. The driver was 100% at fault and was cited. His insurance carrier is Progressive/policy limit of $500,000. Lower back pain upon impact/neck pain later/saw my Chiropractor the next day/referred to Pain Management/hired an Attorney. Fast forward- MRI & X-rays showed lower lumbar compression and bulging disks in my neck. I had two back procedures/no relief. Neurosurgeon performed L5-S1 fusion which has reduced the pain, however, the surgery itself resulted in numbness in one leg & foot. The Neuros. does not recommend surgery on my neck as feels it is not worth the risk of causing even further damage. Medical costs total over $300,000 but many are under an LOP so will be negotiated down. Their final offer will mean $53,000 in my pocket. If I turn that down, we will then go into mediation and try for up to $75,000. My question is - are these figures are too low?? Thank you in advance!

No way to tell without a full review of the entire case. Anyone that tells you different is simply lying and making things up.
