QUESTION

Should I hire an attorney?

Asked on Apr 23rd, 2014 on Personal Injury - Virginia
More details to this question:
This is in regards to an accident in which I was not at fault. Other motorist received a ticket from the police department. Riding my motorcycle I was struck on the left side by someone who was changing lanes. I went down with the bike. Moderate damage to the bike, I received road rash and a concussion. I have contacted my own, and the other drivers insurance company multiple times. My insurance company (Geico) is starting the ball to get my motorcycle repaired. My medical bills are not covered by my insurance. When speaking to the other insurance company (Mercury) in the last conversation they stated that I should use my insurance to repair the bike and if they get in contact with their insured and if they are found liable they will reimburse my insurance company. When I asked about medical expenses they stated again IF they get in touch with their insured and if they are found liable then the claim would go forward.

A concussion can be a very serious injury.  I would strongly suggest you contact a lawyer.  I would also be concerned that the insurance company is not taking responsibility.   The first consultation is free and you do not pay a lawyer unless you recover.  I would be more than happy to discuss this with you in more detail.
