QUESTION

Should I settle?

Asked on Sep 12th, 2018 on Personal Injury - Indiana
More details to this question:
I suffered 1-2 degree burns on half of one arm and entire front of stomach... with scarring and was offered a measly 5k plus doctor bills for damages... including a broken watch and 100 dollar device that caused the burns. Unfortunately, I had just switched jobs 6 weeks before the incident and did/still do not have health coverage for another 45 days. I had asked for 55k, what should my response be? Should I fight for more? I was unable to: Swim with kids Dress myself Bathe myself Workout Sit/sleep comfortably For weeks Please help!

it is impossible to give a fair amount to settle wihtout reviewing the entire file.  Would need to consider fault, permanacy, review medical records etc.  If you have a laywer discuss with them.  If not you may have made a mistake trying to settle without an attorney and may have damaged your case.  If you are not represented stop communication with the defendant and call an attorney.
