QUESTION

Should medical bills be negotiated before settlement?

Asked on Feb 25th, 2016 on Personal Injury - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
Case ended on 12/2015 and signed release for check on 1/2016. My lawyer will not respond to me. His paralegal is stating she has to negotiate bills, cannot not give me a date of my share of payment. This has been an accident case for 4 years now! It went from wait 30 days to 90. What do I do? Is this legal? Is this the normal process? How long should I have to wait to receive my share after I sign?

Ask your attorney. It may be very likely that they are settling with 3rd parties who have liens on the proceeds such as medical providers, etc.
