QUESTION

trip and fall settlement

More details to this question:
2023 trip & fall @ Walmart. They're admitting fault & going to pay my insurance company back for all payments made. I've had 2 surgeries on my hip (reconstructive, bursa removed, muscle removed, labrum reattached,IT-band resected it was a 6 month recovery) & knee, due for a 3rd surgery on my knee this fall (maci procedure-replacing cartilage, 9 mo recovery.) 80k in medical bills, so far. I've been able to work from home during a lot of my recovery, missing about 6 wks total. My job isn't one that you can work from home. My boss was being nice, so I would have income coming in. I continue to have pain daily. Having to see doctor to help manage this. I was an active person, always hosting events @ my, working in my flowers beds. now, I can barely get through the day. This has ruined my life. In my opinion, I wouldn't take a million dollars to have gone through this. I am having to rethink my career of 24 yrs. I have no idea what offer to settle on? They haven't mentioned anything.

The honest truth here is that you need to get a personal injury lawyer to represent you. This case is far too big for you to handle yourself. They can then evaluate you claim, medical expenses, pain and suffering, and any other issues and may even be able to give you a rough idea of what the case may settle for.  Just about all personal injury lawyers work on contingent fees. In other words they only get paid once you do. The average fee is about 33% of the overall settlement once expenses are paid. From the sounds of it you would have a case worth taking, especially if Walmart acknowledges fault.
