co-signer of brother in-law car, his wife my sister in a accident and died .I am being sued by other car driver

If you are on the vehicle title as an owner or co-owner, then you can be sued. Turn the matter over to your insurance company.

Yes, as it seems you are a co-owner of the vehicle and liable under the dangerous instrumentality doctrine. You need to address this with your insurance carrier or hire a lawyer to defend the lawsuit ASAP.
