May 28th 2024 my car was hit in an intersection in Ontario, Oregon, causing personal injury: side whiplash possible other latent injury. The other driver was cited. They did not notify their insurance company. I did all the footwork/paperwork to report. It took 10 days to receive contact from the company that accepted liability and totaled my car. 21 days after repeated attempts to contact the at fault company to speak with the adjuster for settlement options, I was told a rental had been ordered on June13th.The rental company informed me they did not have an available vehicle until Monday June 17th. The loss adjuster then called on June 14th and informed me they totaled my car but they would only pay for a rental through June 18th. My totaled vehicle is parked awaiting the decision of the at fault company on damage value agreement. They have not offered a fair and equitable value for my vehicle to even cover a down payment for a comparable car.
Hi. It looks like you are getting the run around from the at fault's insurance company. I highly reccomend that you retain an accident attorney to represent you for both your personal injury and propery damages. Insurance companies will take your case much more seriously if you do that.
