It is possible. You would need proof to link the attack to the actual hotel.

The guest would have to show that some condition at the hotel caused the scabies, that the hotel caused the condition (as opposed to a guest), or that the hotel knew about the condition and did nothing about it.

If you are able to prove that you contracted a disease as a result of the hotel's negligent actions, then you should be able to collect damages from the hotel including medical bills, reimbursement for any time lost from work and pain and suffering.

You would have to prove scientifically the causation and that the cause was as a result of negligence. The mere fact that you have a problem means nothing standing alone.

A hotel guest has the right to leave a hotel in the same condition as she came in. You have a right to compensation but since this is not a permanent injury, you wont get much money from the hotel.

The guest will have to prove how and when he contracted scabies and that the hotel knew or should have known that the guest could contract scabies. If the guest can satisfy that proof, then they would have a claim and should be compensated.

Proving the cause is not easy. Write a firm letter to the hotel reporting the problem and requesting help with expenses. Go to a doctor to document the bites. Send bills to insurer/hotel.. In three months, write the insurance company and tell them your friends tell you to get a lawyer. When they ask you if you would be interested in a settlement, be coy at first but then say how about $5000. Then haggle back and forth and try to end up with a thousand.

If it can be proved that the scabies were contracted at the hotel the guest can sue the hotel for negligence and premises liability. The guest should report the facts to the manager before checking out if the scabies were discovered while still a guest at the hotel. If the scabies were discovered at a later date the guest should contact the hotel and ask to speak with the risk management department or the insurance company for the hotel. Depending on the extent of the physical injuries the guest may want to first contact an attorney to investigate the matter. The guest should be able to prevail on this case if the facts support the allegations made in this question.

I can't speak to the hotel's procedure, but if the hotel guest can prove that the hotel was negligent (hotel failed to deal w/ an infestation, hotel failed to inspect, etc), then the guest will have a case. If the guest absolutely sure that he or she got scabies (bed bug bites, right?) from the hotel, then he or she should contact a lawyer.

The guest would have a claim for damages if a medical doctor could confirm that that source of the scabies was staying in the hotel.

First, you have to prove that you contracted scabies from the hotel and nowhere else. Next, contact the parent company for the hotel and explain the situation. They will forward it to their insurance company or claims management who will ask many questions, send you forms and demand documentation. You may end up with something, but they won't make it easy for you.

If you can prove it, it is a good civil case against the hotel.
