What can I do if I was arrested for hit and run on a building when my brakes STOPPED WORKING and my driving was suspended?

I am a terrified MOTHER OF FOUR. My husband works 6 days a week 12 hr shifts. The kids and I are a team. Here’s the deal. I have a prior hit and run that I paid the ticket on from last year and was taking an online driving test. I’ve never been in much trouble only a "criminal conversion" from about 7 years ago. This was my 1st tome in JAIL. I am scares. What is most likely to happen to me for this hit n run + driving while still suspended? I am terrified. The whole 15 hrs in jail I bawled my eyes out and usually take anti anxiety meds and methadone daily and suffer PTSD due t. This only happened due to the brakes completely ceasing to work and me swerving to avoid hitting people. Please help. I need to avoid jail at any cost. My kids need me. I’m a resident of INDIANAPOLIS, IN, MARION COUNTY. Will a court appointed attorney be good enough to help? We had a 96 old mobile. We are not rich. Please help. My preliminary is in 2 days... :( My husband worked 6 days a week 12 hr shifts. I need to b here for my children. I’m terrified. Advice?
