QUESTION

What do I do? What are my options?

Asked on Oct 03rd, 2014 on Automobile Accidents - Colorado
More details to this question:
I was in a car accident at a red light intersection. The other driver ran the red light and I hit his car. Nobody stopped at the accident except for one person, she said that the other driver ran the light because she was sitting at the light waiting for it to turn red which means his light was red because they were going towards each other. When I get to the hospital the police officer comes and gives me a ticket. He said that two other witnesses left their phone number at the scene and when he called them they said that I ran the light! Now nobody other than this one person stopped! She saw the whole thing and said he other driver ran the light but out of the blue two other witnesses somehow said I was at fault. I live out of state but have to go back to court in two weeks for this ticket that I don't deserve. What do I do? What are my options? I didn't run the light but the other driver has 2 "witnesses" and I have 1 saying I was not at fault.

Your best option is to contact your insurance agent.  Your insurance company should provide a lawyer to defend you and perhaps file a counter-claim against the other driver.
