Who is at fault?

More details to this question:
Man wants to sell truck. Puts truck in a consignment lot. Owner of the consignment lot loans truck out so his friend can move a couch. The truck is involved in a 4 car collision. Air bag is deployed and driver of the truck is hospitalized.

I will presume that the owner of the truck did not give permission to the owner of the consignment lot to loan out the truck to others.  Therefore, the owner of the consignment shop and the friend driving the truck are both possibly at fault for the collision assuming that the friend caused the 4 car collision.  Good luck with this matter.
