QUESTION

Why too long only case?

Asked on Dec 15th, 2017 on Automobile Accidents - Florida
More details to this question:
I have a lawsuit in the state of Florida. I moved to Maryland state now. Hired the lawyer over a year ago. Lawsuit was filed last February. My lawyer keeps saying the insurance keeps changing adjusters on the case against them. Since I moved out of Florida I have no idea what really is going here. If my lawyer is really doing nothing and case sitting down on his desk or if he really is telling me the truth or worst if they ripping me off with the lawsuit $$

You have the right to discharge counsel if u so choose. Said counsel would be entitled to a lien on the eventual settlement For any work done. It sounds like not much has been done if he hasn’t filed suit. A lot of clients dont understand that many lawyers take cases with no intention of filing suit. They would rather just attempt settlement with a non lawyer insurance rep. To take the case seriously, a good lawyer would have filed suit after 1 year if no progress is being made and your medical treatment has concluded.
