The car that was in the accident was not driven by me. My name was on title I transferred title to a friend and they didn't get title changed right away. In the meantime a person drove the car who I had no knowledge of. It resulted in damages $20.065.10 there was no insurance on car the date of the accident. I found out that my friend who was paying for the car insurance would not cover it because car was in my name, she didn't know that it wouldn't been covered. You cant insure a car thats in another persons name (we did not know that) anyhow she cancelled the insure on June 21,2012 which happened to be the day of the accident. The person driving said he would take responsibility. The judgement was in his name vs my name. I'm on social security and i have a pension. I own half a house. Can they touchmy pension or house since its in two names? Also if I have to pay can I pay what I can afford and that would be no more that $50 per month. I don't know what to do. I have a closed head injury and my friend is writing this question for me in my presence. Please advise. Thank you.
