QUESTION

Found Machinery in a Chip Bag

Asked on Jul 09th, 2023 on Products Liability - Florida
More details to this question:
My mother in law was eating chips from the bag. She threw the bag on the floor, scared, and yelled, “There’s something in that bag that isn’t chips!” I poured the bag out on the floor expecting to see a bug or something but there was a plastic bearing of some sort in the bag. We took pictures and videos and put the chips and piece in a large zip loc bag. How do we proceed? Reach out to the company or should we have a lawyer first? She’s disgusted and won’t eat chips.

Disgusted by a peice of plastic? Unless there is substantial medical documentation to back that up, that simply won't get far regardless of a lawyers involvement. If thats the extent of the claim, no coherent lawyer will take such a case, so you likely best served to notify the manufactuer and allow them to examine the plastic and see what resolution they propose. Usually it will be some form of credit or discount on future purchases, a refund and maybe some nominal amount for your troubles.
