You would have a case if you have real injuries. If this is just a burn that did not require any medical intervention or surgical intervention, then it would be very difficult for a lawyer to accept your case for representation.

Not sure what you would have expected the manager to do, as the event already happened, other than maybe offer to call an ambulance. Unlike the McDonalds coffee case, where the coffee was simply too hot to even consume, this appears to be an unfortunate event where YOU were handling the food after it was handed to you and dropped the corn on your lap. You will need to (a) get immediate medical care to determine the extent of your burn injury and document it and (b) retain a personal injury lawyer to examine whether the injuries are worth the effort to make a claim with the company or thier insurance. There is a night and day difference between a burn requiring skin grafts or keloiding vs. simply a painfull redness or a few small blisters. The key is retaining a lawyer immediately to help address your issues properly.
