Good morning Paula I'm sorry to hear about your tragic accident. In the state of Florida, a property owner is under a legal duty to make sure that the common areas of the building that he rents to tenants is free from dangerous conditions and defects. It looks Like your landlord was negligent in failing to remove a dangerous condition that he knew about or should've known about in sufficient enough time to avoid the accident that happened to you. Accordingly, It appears that your landlord is most likely going to be held liable here in this situation. You should retain An attorney here in the state of Florida on contingency fee, which means you don't pay anything unless you win. This website prohibits us from soliciting your case, but you can research attorneys on here and reach out to one of us.
