Have used property next to dock for accessing lake. Have done so exclusively (wife has) since 1975. Neighbor inherited adjacent property in 2010. They learned through a recent survey that said property is on their land.

You would not have a case for adverse possession, but you would have a case for an easement. Different legal concept, but you can continue your use.
