QUESTION

Breach of remodeling contract

Asked on May 20th, 2022 on Residential Real Estate - Kansas
More details to this question:
I hired a contractor to remodel two bathrooms in our house. He gave us a price of 20,000 dollars for both. It has been 2 years, has done 3/4 the small bath and torn out the 2nd bathroom and now wants us to absolve him of finishing the job due to no more money. We have already spent 27,500 dollars on him and another 5 000 dollars on subcontractors in addition to him. We have 9 people using one shower and it has been this way for over a year, since he tore out the 2nd bath.

In general, you may have a claim. However, I would need more information before I could provide you with a proper response. I suggest that you speak with a local attorney to protect your rights.
