I have a judgment against a former tenant for unpaid rent and utilities. Can I place a lien on their 401k ? It is likely they will attempt to avoid the debt by filing for bankruptcy.
If your tenant files for bankruptcy, your claim for unpaid rent can be reduced or wiped clean completely. It will not matter what liens you have filed. I have never heard of a lien filed on a 401K.
