QUESTION

Can I break my lease due to rats?

Asked on Feb 08th, 2014 on Landlord and Tenant Law - Washington
More details to this question:
We recently found out that the smell from our stove was in fact rat urine. We even found rat droppings in it. Not only there but under the dishwasher and fridge. We told the landlord and he gave me sticky pads to bait them in. The only problem is, I have a pup who is very curious and would get stuck to one of them really quick. I'm just wondering what precautions do I need to take and as a landlord is the sticky pads good enough to get rid of rats?

Sticky pads won't work. Call the health department and complain about the rats. That will force the owner to deal with the problem.
