Can i sign over my home to my minor children and ex husband?

Hi Suzanne,   While you may sign the house over to your soon to be Ex, it would be a big mistake to put the property in the names of your minor children as well. If a minor owns property in NY State and the property were to be sold, a Supreme Court Judge would have to approve the sale. Obviously, involving the Supreme Court is a very expensive and somewhat unpredictable process. You could, however, retain a portion of the house with the express understanding that it was being held for the benefit of the children.
