QUESTION

Can I sue my landlord for our bed bug problem?

Asked on Oct 08th, 2013 on Landlord and Tenant Law - Nevada
More details to this question:
I have been in my apt for more than 15 mos. and I have been telling management about a bedbug problem since the 2nd month I've lived here. We bought many sprays and nothing seemed to work , when we confronted management about it again she said the owner doesn't want to spend the money for pest control and gave me a spray bottle to do it again. Her it is 13 mos. later and they've only gotten worse. Now my a/c is broken and has been for 2 mos. I told them I was not going to pay rent until it is fixed and they have given me a three-day eviction notice. Is there anything I can do I have three young children and not enough money to move.

You need to respond to the eviction notice by filing or sending a letter to the court immediately. The eviction notice should tell you how to respond. That should get you a hearing before a Judge and you can tell your story to stop or delay the eviction.
