QUESTION

Condo homeowners association post bankruptcy

Asked on Nov 12th, 2015 on Real Estate - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I need help dealing with the condo's homeowners association. I filed for bankruptcy in July, in which decided to let go of the property. I know that I'm responsible for any payments post filing, but I didn't know it was going to be in a form of a lawsuit. I was wondering if anyone can help me with this issue.

I'm not sure I can answer your question based on the information you provided.  If the lawsuit is about payment of fees, those fees can be included in the banruptcy.  If you have lost the property due to foreclosure, then it is the mortgage company that will owe the condo fees.
