Converting easement into private road

More details to this question:
In a rural setting, can the residents of a shared easement along side pieces of land convert the easement road to a private gated road? The road has a name, and dead ends into other unassociated land (has other easement. If all property owners agree is it permissable for them to block of the road to restrict access? This is in Michigan.

I would recommend that those involved consult a real estate lawyer regarding this. Depending where this is and other access issues, this may be permissible but it might not. Depending on zoning and the way the homes are situated, it could go either way.   this is the best I can do with the facts as presented
